NEW IN 2008: MVS Curatorial Studies

Masters of Visual Studies
The Masters of Visual Studies (MVS) is unique in Canada. The MVS is a small, elite two-year professional program offering two fields of study: studio art practice (4 students admitted per year) and now curatorial studies (admitting 3 students per year). It is distinguished from more traditional MFA degrees in that it is not designated as media-specific. Instead, the MVS offers a small group of students a program of interdisciplinary studio art or curatorial studies in combination with other knowledge-based activities such as research, critical writing and professional practice within contemporary visual art. The internship placement provides a link between the student and the culturally diverse city of Toronto, with its varied galleries, museums, arts publications and studios.
